I’m actually living in Dubai. I’m happy here also with this crazy temperature, sometimes I miss Italy, Rome, my family, my friends.
Tomorrow Italy is celebrating the Republic Day and our amazing Italian Ambassador in UAE, his Excellency Nicola Lener, just send me this kind email, that make me feel proud of my origins.
I’m very happy to share with you all.
Dear Eleonora Albertoni
on the occasion of the Italian Republic Day, on June 2nd, the Embassy of Italy to the UAE would like to share this ebook, a project of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, which features art photographs of twenty Italian piazzas, taken between the end of March and the beginning of May this year.
When we speak of Italy and when we think of Italy’s cities and countless towns that draw visitors from all over the world, the picture that immediately springs to mind is the piazza, framed by palazzos, churches and the daily life that goes on around them. During the last few months, when cities ground to a standstill in order to contain the pandemic, the piazza has momentarily lost its social function and has acquired a novel one as a physical open space, rediscovering formerly hidden architectural lines and new perspectives of light.
Please feel free to download the ebook to the following link:
Italy starts again!
W l’Italia che riparte!
This is a great initiative promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Directorate General for Cultural and Economic Promotion and Innovation Ideazione and curated by Marco Delogu.
Thank you all to make me feel home and proud Italian.
Happy Republic Day to all Italians in Italy and abroad, especially those who live here in UAE like me.
