Part of the seventh edition of the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World, the Summit, the longest-running event promoting Italian cuisine and wine outside Italy, will celebrate its entry into the WEB3.0 era in Dubai.
“The future of Italian cuisine” is the theme of a “hybrid” conference to be held on November 18th at the Grand Millennium Hotel Business Bay, which will be attended by chefs and restaurateurs from all over the world. They will do it live as well as, for the first time in history, in the metaverse, the technology destined to become a protagonist of the Third Era of the internet.
To open the discussion, after the greeting of the Consul General of Italy in Dubai, Giuseppe Finocchiaro, will be Heinz Beck, the three-star Michelin chef of the restaurant La Pergola in the Waldorf Astoria Hotel Rome. Great chefs and restaurateurs from all over the world will also participate with their avatars (see list below). “Italian cuisine is tradition, history and culture, but it also communicates with technological innovation, of which Italians have always been at the forefront”, says Rosario Scarpato, founder and director of the Summit. It is no coincidence that the technical partner of the event is the Italian OVER (https://www.overthereality.ai/), the global open-source Augmented Reality platform powered by the Ethereum blockchain.
The NFT (Non-Fungible Token) celebrating this edition of the Summit and the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World will also be presented during the day and will be obtainable for free by attending the conference in person or by accessing the dedicated section in the metaverse. NFTs are PoA (Proof of Attendance) or free souvenirs that testify over the time (and in the blockchain) the participation to an event.
It is not the first time that the Bella Restaurant in the Grand Millennium Hotel Business Bay and chef Alessandro Miceli are at the forefront of new technologies for the WEB3.0. The first NFT in history linked to an unforgettable food and wine experience, was launched last year in Bella, in collaboration with www.nftdineart.ae
