Dettol named Official Hygiene Partner for Expo 2020 Dubai
With a shared vision to work together towards a healthier and more sustainable future, Expo 2020 Dubai and Dettol have joined forces to ensure world-class hygiene across the mega-event, with the powerbrand announced as Expo 2020’s Official Hygiene Partner.
Under the partnership, Dettol will provide top-of-the-line hygiene products across Expo 2020 Dubai, supporting Expo’s number one priority of ensuring visitor and staff safety during these challenging times. Dettol’s no-touch hand-sanitiser stations will be positioned at all entrance and departure gates, pavilions and restaurants.
To spread further awareness of health and safety best practices, Dettol experts will participate in sessions during the six-month Expo to educate visitors on the importance of hygiene and showcase its initiatives as a pioneer in health and hygiene through innovation.
The agreement was signed at a ceremony with attendees including Mohammed Alhashmi, Chief Technology Officer, Expo 2020 Dubai; Jamie Paterson, Vice President, Corporate Finance, Expo 2020 Dubai; Tahir Malik, Senior Vice President, Reckitt, Africa & Middle East; and Tauseef Faisal, Regional GM, Reckitt Middle East.
Mohammed Alhashmi said: “The health, safety and well-being of everyone working at and visiting Expo 2020 is our number one priority. As we get ready to welcome the world from 1 October, we are pleased to partner with such a trusted and globally renowned brand as Dettol, which prides itself on providing the highest standard of protection.”
Known for its commitment to innovation and excellence for more than 80 years and keeping people safe in more than 124 countries, Dettol is part of the Reckitt Benckiser portfolio, which has a mission to protect, heal and nurture in the relentless pursuit of a cleaner, healthier world. At Expo 2020, in line with the theme of ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’, it will unveil more innovations and groundbreaking products to show how health and sustainability will come together in new ways in the future.
Tahir Malik, Senior Vice President, Reckitt, Africa & Middle East, said: “Our brands have a critical role to play, now more than ever, by promoting access to hygiene and health products in the fight against COVID-19. As a trusted brand synonymous with the gold standard in hygiene and disinfection products, Dettol has stayed at the forefront of consumer hygiene by developing new ways to protect people against germs and infections, and we are pleased to be working alongside Expo 2020 Dubai as its Official Hygiene Partner.”
Tauseef Faisal, Regional GM, Reckitt Middle East, said: “We are on a mission to return to normalcy with responsibility. We recognise that Expo is one of the first major global events to take place after the pandemic struck last year, and we have a major role in protecting all the participants and visitors by providing the highest quality health products. Expo is prioritising preventative health measures and we’re honoured to partner with them in their journey to make the event safer for everyone.”
In addition to sanitisation stations, Expo 2020 Dubai has introduced a number of precautionary measures across the site to combat COVID-19, including mandatory face-mask wearing, social-distancing regulations and frequent deep cleaning, especially of surfaces. All Expo 2020 staff have been vaccinated, and vaccines have been mandated to all staff of International Participants.
The first World Expo in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA) region and the largest event in the Arab world, Expo 2020 will run from 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022, inviting visitors from across the planet to join the making of a new world during a six-month celebration of human ingenuity, innovation, progress and culture.
